La organización, gestión y diseño de las IDE en Bélgica, se desarrollan en base a la estructura federal del gobierno Belga, por una parte están las IDE de las regiones de Flandes (GDI-Vlaanderen) , Bruselas y Walonia (InfraSIG) , y por otra la del Gobierno Federal (NGI) . Cada región es responsable de la coordinación y ejecución de la Directiva INSPIRE en su jurisdicción.
Esta estructura hace que las IDE se encuentren en etapas de desarrollo diferentes y por lo tanto el acceso a la información no se puede realizar en las mismas condiciones para todo el país. En el marco de INSPIRE se esta trabajando en la creación de un geoportal único a nivel nacional que facilite el acceso a los conjuntos de datos contemplados en los anexos de INSPIRE.
La transposición de la Directiva INSPIRE aún no se ha materializado a nivel del gobierno federal, estando prevista para principios del año 2011. En cambio en las tres regiones ya se ha transpuesto a la normativa regional.
Actualmente no existe una IDE con un enfoque nacional, pero se esta trabajando para establecerla en base a las iniciativas regionales y las del estado federal.
La coordinación de los asuntos de la Directiva los lleva a cabo un comité interino (Interim Coordinating Committee ICC) que tiene la siguiente estructura.
En cuanto a la reciprocidad entre las regiones para compartir sus datos y servicios, existen acuerdos entre las autoridades públicas, pero estas difieren de una región a otra, lo que deberá homogenizarse con la formalización de los mandatos de INSPIRE.
En el Seguimiento INSPIRE 2009 se informó 239 conjuntos de datos y 42 servicios, el número de peticiones total a todos los servicios fue de 5.993.276. Los metadatos de los conjuntos de datos están disponibles para el 73.6%, en el caso de los servicios de red (10) existen para el 100% . En el seguimiento de este año 2010 se informaron 322 conjuntos de datos, en el caso de servicios de datos espaciales se informaron los mismos que para el periodo anterior.

In the context of INSPIRE, work is being done on creating a single national geo-portal to provide access to data sets in the annexes of INSPIRE.
The transposition of the INSPIRE Directive has not yet been materialized by the federal government, but it is planned by the beginning of 2011. In contrast, in the three regions it has been transposed into regional regulations.
Currently there is not an SDI with a national focus, but work is been done to establish an SDI on the basis of the regional and federal initiatives.

In the 2010 INSPIRE Monitoring report, it has been reported 322 data sets, concerning the spatial data services it has been reported the same as in 2009.
